Smithard
Smithard's many years of directing experience, powerful writing, and soulful approach to film making and portraying humanity make him completely unique from the mainstream director.
His infatuation with cinema all started when he saw the movie, Jaws. This propelled him to start making short films, one of which landed on Steven Speilberg's desk, who then invited Smithard, at the age of 19, to start his career in Los Angeles.
After some time behind the lens, Smithard took a break and got his commercial pilot's license. He also studied at UCLA to become an emergency trauma medic with qualifications in Advanced Trauma, Pediatric Life Support and Cardiac Life Support.
When Smithard came back to film he wrote and directed Frank Langella in the feature film, Breaking the Fifth. He also has done several documentary style pieces: Battle of Waterloo which is about an English pub in Los Angeles, and Two Shining Seas that follows a 4000 mile bike ride from the Pacific across the country to the Atlantic.
